Bring Goals into Reality

Saturday, July 10th, 2010

There are times in your life when you may feel as though you are stumbling through, destination unknown.  Maybe you are.  And then time passes and you begin to see the stumbling was really moving you forward to a truth or goal that had not yet been revealed.

Years ago I received great advice – take one step each day toward your goal.  Of course, the “goal” may be defined differently during the many phases of your life, but it is that forward energy that is most important.  This energy drives your ability to gently expand into your fullest self easily and effortlessly.

It’s ok that there are periods in your life when you are confused.  In fact, expect it.  But know this is a phase.  As annoying as this truth is, confusion is an opportunity.  Confusion usually stems from some need inside of you not being met whether you are consciously aware of this or not.

Try journaling or reading about places or people that attract you.  Meditate.  Talk to friends you admire.  Listen to the compliments you are receiving in your life right now.  And most of all – move toward your dreams and goals – no matter what they are.

One step, each day.  Read an article.  Make a phone call. Send an email.  Take a class. Create something.

When you focus on your goals and desires (even the fleeting ones!), you focus on what you want in life – not a negative, self-defeating idea of what you don’t want.  Your thoughts direct your words and your words create your deeds.  Your deeds are your life.

It all begins at the same place – choice.  Free will.  You chose to take that step each day or not.  So, what are your thoughts creating in your life today?  Is it leading to your goals or not?

5 Questions to a Better Life

Tuesday, March 16th, 2010

1.       What is your favorite time of day?

2.       What mistake do you keep making?

3.       What do you love?

4.       Who do you want to be?

5.       Where do you like to go on vacation?

Over the next week, I will explore each one of these questions…

  1.  What is Your Favorite time of Day?  Are you a morning person?  Night owl?  Understanding this simple rhythm about yourself allows you to make more empowered decisions.  Why?  You can choose to focus on projects and make your most important decisions during your individual ‘peak’ times of day.  You’ll discover that things just flow better during this time of day for you.  You are less apt to be impatient or careless.

Of Course, the flip side of this is you also have a natural low in your energy each day as well.  During this low energy period you are more prone to irritability or frustration…Now look at your life – how do you set up your day?  Are you focusing on your most important projects during your peak times?  Do you even allow yourself the flexibility to notice your different energy levels throughout the day, or do you always expect 110% from yourself every moment?

Understanding your own individual energy peaks and valleys helps you to take better care of yourself.  It can queue you to eat, take a ten minute rest or give you that extra energy to succeed in whatever you are doing.  You are learning to self-monitor yourself.  Without the ability to self-monitor, we become exhausted and out of balance.  However, today, you are taking one more step to the wholeness and peace you seek…

Pendulum 101

Monday, November 24th, 2008

Pendulums can be invaluable tools to connect you with guidance and your own intuition.  I use my pendulum not only to clear chakras and negative energies, but also for problem solving and decision making.  Sometimes I can not be neutral about a specific topic – the pendulum helps me to get out of my ego and become open to spirit.

Getting to know you…The pendulum is like any quality relationship – it takes time to find that comfort level and trust.

First establish your “yes” and “no.”  Hold the pendulum with the weighed side hanging free from your hand (able to swing 360 degrees) – then ask the pendulum to show me my “yes.”  The pendulum could begin moving in a certain constant motion like back and forth or a circle.  However, beginners often psych themselves out, so ask the question, then instead of staring at the pendulum for movement – look away, maybe out a window or close your eyes and imagine a chalk board being erased (any clearing image will do…)  Remember to breathe.  Now return your attention to your pendulum.  Chances are it will be swinging in a certain direction.  If the movement doesn’t seem noticeable enough ask to see a “big yes.”

Once you are able to establish your “yes,” use the same technique to discover your “no.”  If you are running in to difficulties, relax, it takes time and maybe try working with a friend.  Both of you can find your “yes” and “no” together, but remember your “yes” and “no” may not swing the same way.  It is very individual.

Try to keep to more neutral subjects for guidance in the beginning.  For example, instead of asking the pendulum if you should dump your relationship, try asking questions about which restaurant to go to or vitamins to take.  By keeping to the lighter subjects that you are not invested in the answers and you can more readily accept the results.  Try to follow the guidance that you receive and begin to see what happens…Like any friendship, you are building a foundation of trust.

Oh, and expect to be surprised.  You will soon discover as you work with a pendulum the answers you receive will not always be what you are expecting.  Sometimes the answers you receive will be contrary to your view point and I encourage you to keep an open mind.

Your most important quality when working with this tool is discernment.  The pendulum will not be right 100% of the time.  I think sometimes the answers force you to examine what is really going on internally and discover your own truth.  That is your part – discernment.  A friend does not make all the decisions in your life, but a great friend helps you to discover your own truths.

Please let me know any specific questions as I am sure you are not alone.  Happy Penduluming!
