I read this book on New Year’s Eve/Day and I was surprised. My husband had given the book to me as a Christmas gift.I had never heard of it before, but my husband has a way of knowing my heart – so I gave it a try…
Interestingly, I really enjoyed the book when I read it and have referred several friends and clients to it, but now that I look at the book in hand – again, I’m surprised…Upon my first reading a couple months ago, I was fascinated by her many different techniques to bring intuition and spirit more present in you life.I still am and think some techniques are very useful.
However, as I look at the chapter titles, I remember nothing of her words, her beliefs.Well, actually one part of her writing does stand out and always will – her discovered root meaning of the word magic is “to bring light to.”Being also a lover of words and magic – this definitely resonated with me and gave her writing voice authority as I continued to read.
I don’t think less of the book; I am just reminded that what is important will rise up.Yes, now that I reflect further, she did reveal a bit about her life and how she came to her beliefs, but it is the techniques to incorporate magic into your daily life that is the importance of the writing.
I encourage anyone interested in living a more magical life to read this book and even try out a few of her techniques – like me, you will be surprised.
About fifteen years ago I was first introduced to Flower Essences.I had been in chronic pain for over a year due to a car accident and I was a mess.I had tried to find relief through regular western medicine, but this only lead to more pills.Seeking alternative treatments, I found a healer who introduced me to flower essences and what lay beyond physical pain – the emotions.
I discovered to find true healing I needed to address not only the physical pains, but also the emotional scars that were at its foundation. This is when Flower Essence Remedies entered my life.Flower Essence Remedies are based on the concept that food is for your body as flowers are for your soul…
Bach Flower Essences were first created by British physician, Dr. Edward Bach, in the 1930s.Bach was treating returning soldiers from WWI for their wounds and unfortunately, many were not getting better. He discovered you had to go beyond the outward signs of physical pain/injury to the emotional traumas still held within the mind and spirit to find true healing.
Flower Essences are derived from the flowering parts of plants. The essence holds the life force of that plant and its specific qualities. For example, I think everyone has heard of the calming effects of lavender.Or even that mistletoe’s meaning is “all heal” and is still used today to treat cancer.Bach rediscovered the forgotten knowledge of flowers that was surely passed down through the ages - only lost for awhile during the crush of 19th century modernization.
Flower Essences are not to be taken to relieve the physical symptoms of injury, but as support.Flower Essences add support to your process – they strengthen your ability to work through conflicts, challenges or obstacles on your journey to wellness.Sometimes the remedies will actually create the space where you may even feel discomfort more acutely as to “clear” this trauma.
A remedy usually last about a month, four drops - four times a day.I like to think of it as a full cycle. When you first take the flower remedy you may feel “better” for a day or so before the clearing begins…and then there becomes a heightened awareness of certain annoyances, fights, unsaid words, old patterns that keep coming up over and over until finally you are dealing with your real issue. It may not feel great, but its necessary to finally be free of this issue and now you have the resources within to make the shift and heal.
I use Flower Remedies all the time with my clients and in my own life – my kids love them! They are non-toxic and safe.It is really another blanket of support you can give yourself, any time – gentle, hopeful and full of possibilities, like the blossoms they are…So be it. Some Flower Essences to think about…

I have many clients who wish to live a more magical life, but are unclear as to how to make this happen.Somehow this concept of “this is for someone else, I don’t have it” keeps coming to the forefront.Let me just be clear, you do have it – you just have to find a way to access it.Here are some tips to open the door to a more magical life…
1.Look for connection.I firmly believe there is a valid reason for everything, both bad and good.Instead of viewing yourself as being a victim of circumstance – what if you chose to belief things happen for a reason? What if you detached from life and looked for the pattern? If you truly witness your life, you will see patterns emerging. Those patterns are happening for a reason. What are they saying to you?
2.Listen to the words people are speaking to you and also pay more attention to the words coming out of your own mouth.Often the advice we give is really for ourselves.Sometimes virtual strangers offer the most profound opportunities – out of the blue someone says something that hits you just right.Do you listen or dismiss these moments? The more you listen and accept these opportunities – the more often they will happen.
3.Go buy some divination cards or runes and begin playing.Any divination tool takes time to build confidence, but I will tell you a secret – sometimes beginners are more pure and can get awesome insights just because they don’t “know too much.”Angel Cards are a great place to start because they are single words, pick one every morning for a week and discover how this works for you.I bet you will feel more connected.
4.Look outside in nature – animals, plants, etc.Several years ago, I bought the book Animal Speak (go to my resources page to find the review/buy) and was immediately hooked. It speaks of living in a connected universe with animals having specific meanings when they appear…Luckily, I live in a place with lots of natural animals (I just saw a bald eagle a couple days ago…) and I am always on the lookout.Which is a big part of living magically – watching for it.
5.Surround yourself with people who do believe or seem to have “magic.”Being around these people will serve as a model – how do they react to new information in their life?I remember meeting a wonderful mentor years ago and she just sparkled – there was just something special, lighter about her and all I could think was, “I want to feel/live like that.”We worked together for awhile and I discovered that light was in me too, but I had blocked it for years for various reasons.Once I was able to release those stumbling blocks – the magic poured in and I was able to transcend my limiting beliefs unlocking a brand new life – JOY!!!
In the beginning, you consciously need to create opportunities for magic to enter your life (cards, looking to nature…) and then suddenly, you will discover - it is all around. You’ll even be amused to discover it has always been here, just waiting for you.You hold the key, in your mind and in your heart.Come, the magic is waiting for you to step into…
A psychic reading is an opportunity to gain more insight and open the door to your best life.Usually the psychic or reader will use divination tools such as Tarot and Runes along with their own innate intuition to divine answers to questions, issues or fortune telling. For me, a good psychic reading empowers clients to transform his or her life abundantly.
Each psychic is “reading” in accordance with their own gifts. Therefore, some are very good at future predictions while others specialize in healing/transformation and still others specialize in medium work with spirits, etc.It is helpful to understand your own needs and motives before seeking a psychic as to find the best “reader” for you.Research on the web, personal referrals or even conversations with the psychic prior to the session can alleviate any of these concerns.
So where do psychics get their abilities for divination?Intuition? Some is natural, some is time, some is acquired learning or mentoring and some is listening and watching…For me, it’s all of these things and more.
My Celtic ancestors called it - thin places. This is where the magic happens – where the fairies and the real world overlap. This is the place for me.My psychic gifts have revealed themselves as “an opener of doors.”
I like to think I give my clients a map when they leave my door.Together we’ve cleared away any blocks, glimpsed the road ahead, some opportunities and even obstacles to avoid, but the drive is still your own.A good psychic reading involves trust and I believe an opportunity – the opportunity to step into your best life.
Each of us would love to “peak forward” a bit and gain insights for a better life.Psychics offer this possibility, however there are some things to know before making an appointment…
1.Psychics are not always right. Most good psychics will tell you only about 80% (on a good day!) of future predictions will come to pass. Why?Well, I tell my clients, what I am showing you is possibilities – you still have sway over future events both positively and negatively.I like to use future events to empower your life today.
2.Get referrals.I suggest only making appointments with people you have been referred to, researched online or spoken to yourself.Let’s face it, there are scams everywhere - so be smart.Lots of psychics have web sites where you can read about them, styles of intuitive reading(tarot, runes…), articles they’ve written, etc.Discover what resonates with you. This little extra work will pay off in a good reading.
3.Bring specific topics to look into for your appointment.Chances are - the psychic will touch upon your big issues without need of your input. However, I believe each of us gets the reading we “need” instead of maybe the one we “want.”So the psychic may not immediately focus on the topic you desire without guidance from you.
4.Be open.Chances are the psychic will tell you some things you were not expecting, both good and bad. Some of the words will resonate with you at the session while others words will become clear in your mind days, even weeks later. Most psychics offer to record the appointment so you can go back later and listen.Often, as you listen again, you will hear things you missed the first time.
5.Have fun and remember this is information.I have been going to psychics since my early twenties and have been reading for others since 1996.I love psychic or intuitive readings – however, over the years, I have seen persons who have been completely wrong as well as persons who are on the money nine times out of ten.Use the information gleaned from your session to empower your life, not a crutch to wait for the inevitable outcomes.
Psychic readings can be a powerful tool to transform your life. They offer a chance gain insights, heal old wounds, to begin to live your best life today.May it be so.
Several years ago I was introduced to the concept of Chakras. Balancing Chakras became my tool to “see” into another’s body and discover what was blocking them from their best life. My clients were amazed at the clarity of information derived from these blocked Chakras. I soon discovered how much my clients benefited from a basic knowledge of the Chakras system and some simple techniques to clear the blocks themselves.
I work with seven Chakras. Others believe there are more Chakras (9, 11 and higher,) but for me, (I’m Irish), “7” is about as holy and lucky a number can get.
Your first Chakra is found at your root, your sex center. This is the foundation of your life and survival, your ancestry, even relating to the house you live in. The color of this chakra is red.
The second Chakra is found above, two inches below your belly button. The uterus of a woman. This is the seat of your creativity and abundance — the birth place of your ideas. Your career and prosperity is directly connected to the orange, second Chakra.
Just below your rib cage is your third Chakra, related to your self-worth. This is how you feel about yourself and how you project that self into the world – self-confidence and self-esteem. Your ego and power are found here. The color of this Chakra is yellow.
The forth Chakra is above to the right of your heart. This is your green Heart Chakra holding the energy of joy, bliss, compassion and love, your feelings. This is where you begin your quest for inner peace.
At the center of your throat is your fifth Chakra, your truth. This relates to whether you speak your truth and actually feel heard. Light blue, topaz is the color of the throat chakra. Many people suppress rage and tears in their neck and jaws causing great pain throughout their lives.
Almost all of us have heard of your third eye, your sixth Chakra, intuition and wisdom. Your third eye rests between your eyebrows. This concerns listening to your inner voice for guidance and achieving enlightenment. Sapphire blue radiates from your third eye.
Finally your seventh Chakra, your crown is found just above your head. This is your connection to the Universe, Spirit. The color ranges from lavender to white in the Crown Chakra.
That is the basics of the seven Chakras. Now try this game with yourself, scan your body – Are there any pains or shadows? Does your stomach hurt? Do you have a sore throat? Headaches? These pains could be an indicator of a block. Ok, now review the placement of the Chakras on the body and read the descriptions.
For example, so many people have stomach aches. Look at all the products on the market with sure cures. The third Chakra is found in your stomach – self-esteem and self-confidence. Who hasn’t heard the expression “getting butterflies” before speaking or an event? Ringing any bells?
Review your body again and if you discover the problem — how to fix it? Try this exercise: Let’s use the yellow third Chakra, found right below your rib cage. Take a deep breathe in and as you exhale, blow out through your third Chakra. Pushing yellow light out of your body, clearing all the blocks from your third Chakra with your breathe. Repeat two more times.
Notice how you feel — slightly calmed inside. Your breath relaxes. All is well…You may use this technique with any of the Chakras and just change the color of the light associated to the specific Chakra as needed.
Working with Chakras is just one of the many ways to connect to the guidance of our bodies. As you read and listen to the messages, you become empowered to create your best life every day.
Meditation sounds so evolved, so Eastern philosophy, “way out there.” But I’ll tell you a secret; it works. Through meditation, I am able to bring into my life today that which I seek, be it peace or abundance.
This isn’t a new concept. Oprah has been talking about “The Secret” all year. By focusing your thoughts on a specific issue or desire, you bring it into your life. For me, it is during meditation I am able to manifest my best self and bring that force into my life today.
Years ago, when someone first suggested meditation to me, it seemed too hard. How could I possibly focus on one thing and be quiet? I imagined myself sitting in a room with a flickering candle, soft new age music in the background and smiling like a lunatic. Are you kidding me? Not likely. However, the concept achieving a quiet mind through meditation was still very attractive to me as I struggled constantly with a busy, worrying mind. Then I found guided meditation.
Guided meditation differs from other meditation practices, because you are verbally led throughout the experience. The “experience” being at the core for me as I can finally be free of my incessantly thinking mind by concentrating on the unfolding meditation. I become part of the true present and this is where I find my quiet mind. It is within this quiet place I find healing and am able to create a beautiful life.
That’s why I began using meditation with my clients. Early on in my private practice I discovered at the end of the sessions, my clients were in a balanced and receptive state for positive change in their lives. I began using short guided meditations at the end of sessions to ground positive change into their bodies and open their lives to the abundance that always surrounds us.
Quickly, my clients and I noticed how effective this process had become. It is through meditation that each of us can connect with our deepest desires and needs. The more you stay in touch with these needs or desires, the quicker they can manifest in your life. You become your highest self and begin living your best life every day.
